Working Mom’s Day, which fell on Wednesday, March 12th, takes place during National Athletic Training Month. Today, we’re celebrating both working moms and athletic trainers by featuring WaveOn Agent Whitney Cowan—an athletic trainer and devoted mother who recently joined WaveOn. She’s expertly balancing her career, family life, and passion for keeping athletes healthy and performing at their best. Let’s hear her story!
Whitney, what inspired you to join WaveOn Health?
Whitney: I was inspired to join WaveOn Health because it is revolutionary idea that is much needed. An athlete ANYWHERE could get access to an Athletic Trainer and improve their quality of life. Plus, I loved the idea of being able to break out of the traditional realm and help athletes virtually.

As a working mom, how does WaveOn Health fit into your life?
Whitney: As a working mom, WaveOn Health fits my busy life. It allows me to have flexible hours and work from anywhere, so I am not having to spend an excessive amount of time away from my daughter. She can be with me at work, or we can even be travelling.

Why should other working moms consider using WaveOn Health for their kids?
Whitney: There’s not any reason that other working moms should not consider using WaveOn Health for their kids. It is through a completely secure app that gives their child access to a certified and licensed Athletic Trainer from their home, field/court/course, or anywhere. There’s not extra missed school or practice to get care, and you are not having to take extra time off from work. It is a time, resource, and money saver that provides top notch medical advice quickly. You can have peace of mind and not have to wait days for care.

Why should athletes (or parents of athletes) sign up for WaveOn Health?
Whitney: Athletes and/or parents of athletes should sign up for WaveOn Health for a plethora of reasons. You have a medical expert aka Athletic Trainer, on demand. It is a time saver and efficient use of resources, since you are not having to travel to appointments and wait in a Dr’s office, which consumes school, work, and practice time. It is a very cost effective solution. There’s a good chance you can get almost instant advice, such as during a tournament or game, so you can confidently return your athlete to play or sit them, since many youth practices and competitions do not have an Athletic Trainer on site.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to other working moms pursuing their passion?
Whitney: Don’t forget about your passions!

Thank you for joining us in celebrating Working Mom’s Day and National Athletic Training Month. We appreciate the dedication of athletic trainers like Whitney Cowen, who balance their careers, families, and passion for helping athletes thrive. Their hard work and commitment make a lasting impact on the health and performance of so many.
